Airtel to Sell Unlocked iPhone 3GS – Confirmed
Just saw an article on Apple website which confirms Airtel being the only carrier to sell Unlocked iPhone 3GS in India. That means that you can buy iPhone from Airtel and then use it with any other carrier.
Didn’t I mention that earlier. Yippie !! That indeed is a really good news. Where are you Vodafone ?

Check that link out…
Thanks for the update Siggy. I did not notice it.
so we are not going to have unlocked iPhone in India then it means.
Sad. But it is very easy to unlock the iphone3GS just like the previous iphones so no big deal and ya the only problem is the warranty…
Ideally they shud give the phones unlocked for the huge price they sell it in India….
Yes there are ways but that is illegal again and Apple is going to implement strict policies for the same. In future, I have heard people will not be able to use their phones if they are tempered with.
Kuld33p´s last blog ..How can we stop the killing of animals on Streets by Vehicles ?
Actually its not illegal…
We pay money for the phone and the company gives you a bill stating you are the owner of the phone. What you do with the phone is your choice. All they can do is void your warranty. If they block the phone from being used they can be sued in the consumer court.
Loading pirated applications is a an offence tough.
No No. I think you are not aware of apple policies then. As per apple policies if you tamper with your iPhone then your warranty is void and you can not get it replaced or repaired.
And apple will soon come to know whether you have even tampered with the software of the iPhone or iPods. They are working on it.
I see airtel is india telecommunication provider ? am i right ? in my country indonesia use telkomsel for telecommunication provider. Nice to hear that airtel will sell IPhone.
