We pay money for the phone and the company gives you a bill stating you are the owner of the phone. What you do with the phone is your choice. All they can do is void your warranty. If they block the phone from being used they can be sued in the consumer court. Loading pirated applications is a an offence tough.   Actually its not illegal…

But it is very easy to unlock the iphone3GS  just like the previous iphones so no big deal and ya the only problem is the warranty... Ideally they shud give the phones unlocked for the huge price they sell it in India.... Sad.
