- The most common reason that people lie is to avoid confrontation. Getting in trouble is never fun but lying to avoid it is always a “band-aid” solution. When the truth comes out the confrontation is guaranteed to be even more unpleasant than it would have been without the lie. A lie compounds the problem, it doesn’t solve it.

This is a really great list and I think I’ll use it to do devotionals with my boys and stimulate them not to lie. The more reason I can pile on the more motivation for them to always tell the truth ya know? Thanks.

Well said and very much precise on each interesting facts. I felt the guilt when reading those facts. All you have said is true but frankly I can’t stop to lie. There are times I really need to lie.

I hate those people who lie to other people for the sake of protecting themselves. For me, it’s the most stupid act that a person can do. In the first place, if you lie to people, it’s so hard to support your statement without lying again. More or less, lying is a continuous process.
