I was in such a mess for the last 2 weeks. I had installed windows again and was not able to get my Wireless Adapter to work. It is Netgear WG311v3. I tried downloading Netgear’s official Windows 7 supporting drivers as well but still no go. Then after searching here and there found a solution. Now the Wifi seems to be working fine on my Windows 7 x32. I am providing the steps for you to install in case you are also wondering like me.
Important Note: I have 4GB RAM installed on my PC. Just found out the reason why it was not working with the official version of drivers is because of high RAM capacity. Anyways, here is the solution in case you also happen to have more then 2GB RAM.

Alright, so after OS X it was Windows 7′s turn to sit on my desktop. I installed it after a lot of fiddling around though. I was not ready to install Windows 7 with a DVD so after searching a bit found out the solution to install Windows 7 from a USB Drive. I had some problems in the start but then AskVG’s trick worked. Anyways, Now I am writing this from my new Windows 7, but wondering what to install in this windows. Coming from Windows Vista’s background, I really don’t have any idea what to install. All I can think of is my list of programs that were installed in Windows Vista.
Now a big task ahead. I go on to Internet searching for some list of programs compatible with Windows 7. Basically I was searching for freeware programs to be installed. I already had my own list from Windows Vista but I was really not sure whether they all will be compatible with Windows 7 or not. So I go digging. Looking into forums, blogs and other users comments. Now have compiled the list of 20 programs that you must consider installing after Windows 7 installation. Don’t look for any other place just believe me it will definitely ease up your life. I am using Windows 7 x64 so most of the application listed below would be x64 bit compatible as well. Check out for their x64 version as well.
